I was surprised to learn that my favorite pizza parlor is using the Onkyo TX-NR709 to power all of the speakers in their restaurant. I know this is a really good receiver but I didn’t think it would be powerful enough for a commercial sized space. This pizza parlor is about 4000 square feet. There is also a lot of noise from all of the people talking and laughing while they are eating pizza. So the volume needs to be turned up high enough in order to actually hear the music in the background. Everything sounds really nice though and I have always wondered what kind of sound system they were using. I’ve noticed the brand of speakers they are using is PSB and they are mounted near the ceiling of the restaurant. They basically have three speakers on each wall for a total of nine speakers overall. I learned that all of the speakers are hooked up to the Onkyo receiver. So I am impressed that not only can this receiver provide enough power to all of the speakers but it has enough inputs four nine separate speakers.
